I joined The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) in 1979, where I carried out ceremonial mounted duties including Trooping the Colour, State Visits and Royal Weddings.
In 1981 I became a saddler apprentice, becoming Master Saddler in 1993, responsible for saddlery for 250 horses and State Uniforms for 320 men. I retired from the Army after completing 22yrs service in May 2002, and set up my saddlery business specialising in saddle fitting.
Over the last 7 years I have worked very closely with the Society of Master Saddlers, running their Saddle Fitting Courses, lecturing and assessing. I have also lectured in Australia and America.
